Easter

This year, we were lucky to welcome Catherine's fiance, Jeff into the Catholic faith.  I had never been to Holy Saturday Mass before, and it was quite the experience.  Going into it, I didn't know what to expect.  The service was very beautiful.  We started outside of the Church and lit the Easter fire which was then carried into the church that had no lights.  Every person in the congregation held a candle and as the light entered the church, it kept getting brighter and brighter as each person's candle was lit.  Lots of readings and singing, and then the bells started with the Alleluia.  Jeff was baptized, confirmed, and received the Holy Eucharist for the first time.  It was wonderful to be able to share this special occasion with him and to watch him take a step in his faith journey.

Easter Sunday was spent with Vann's brother, Richard.  Here are a few pictures of Margot with her Easter basket and some toys from Uncle Richard.  He got to spend a few days with us as it was Vann's spring break and I think Margot really enjoyed playing with him.  She definitely remembered him when he came back a few weeks later for her birthday as she reached for him as soon as he came in the door.
