1st Birthday stats

It is really hard to believe Margot is one!  This year has gone by so fast.  I don't know how my little 8lb 3oz baby turned into such a little girl.

  • Margot weighs 22lbs 10oz (86%) and is 30 inches tall (80%).  We have a tall, big girl!
  • Margot is off and running.  She started walking really well about 4 weeks ago and has not stopped since.  She loves to say "go" as she runs around the house and squeals when you chase her.
  • Margot pretty much eats everything in sight.  She drinks cow's milk and loves veggies and fruit.  She also likes cheese, yogurt, crackers, and anything sweet.  We have a little bit of trouble getting her to eat meat but hopefully, that too will come.
  • Margot's vocabulary is growing.  She says daddy, mama, doggie, kitty, hi, book, ball, go, uh oh, and all done.  I am sure there are other words that I just don't understand because she talks all the time!
  • Margot loves music and has started to dance when she hears it.  She likes to do the hand motions to "itsy bitsy spider" and "patty cake."
  • Margot enjoys books and understands what you do with them.  As she flips through them she speaks as if she is reading.
  • Margot continues to sleep through the night as she has every night since she was 8 weeks old.  We are down to one nap a day now but bedtime comes a little bit earlier.
  •  Margot loves toys that you can stack or put things in.  She has recently become very interested in everything in the kitchen and understands how to use a spoon to stir in a bowl.  I am thinking this has come from watching me cook dinner.
Vann and I are really loving this age and cannot believe that she is getting to be such a little girl.  She is learning something new every day and we are amazed at everything she picks up on.  She surprises us at every turn and we are fascinated with watching her grow.

1st Birthday parties

We had two family birthday parties for Margot.  She did great at both and really enjoyed playing with all of her family members.  And of course, the cupcakes were delicious!

Baseball

We took Margot to her first baseball game of the season.  She liked clapping when everyone was cheering.  We also got a picture taken with Cocky (who she did not scream at).  And the Gamecocks won!

St. Simons Island

At the beginning of April, Vann's friend from college, Noah, married his wonderful girlfriend, Jennifer.  Noah and Jen have been wonderful friends to us and we couldn't have been more excited and happy to share the weekend with them.  They were getting married in St Simon's Island, GA so Vann and I made a nice little trip of it and stopped in Savannah on the way.  We had a very nice long weekend.  Margot loved the beach.  We just wish it would have been a little warmer!  The hotel we stayed in was beautiful and we had some really good food as well.  Nice, small beach town which we will have to visit again.
